Project News
A productive LSST Joint Technical Meeting (JTM) took place in Glendale, CA, last week. The team had time to review accomplishments and, more importantly, work face-to-face across the distributed project on current challenges. A summary of the week’s activities and group photo can be found here.
A reminder that Daylight Saving Time begins this weekend in the US. While the LSST Project uses Pacific Time as the standard, Arizona remains on Standard Time year time and local time in Chile will not shift. This means start times for many LSST standing meetings will change for participants in some locations but not all. This is an annual source of confusion; check with your meeting organizer for clarification!
Personnel News
Scott Schreiner has joined the LSST Data Management subsystem as Systems Engineer at NCSA. Scott will be helping to construct and operate compute systems that support development and production services at NCSA.
A belated welcome to graduate student Joachim Moeyens who works with the Data Management team at UW on the Moving Object Pipeline Software (MOPS). Joachim is assessing the current state of the art as well as the LSST prototype implementation on the way to producing a production LSST MOPS system.
