The formation of the North American Regional Office of Astronomy for Development
The North American Regional Office of Astronomy for Development was officially established on 29 January 2020 at a signing ceremony in Cape Town, South Africa. The event marked the formation of the eleventh Regional Office of Astronomy for Development. From left to right are seen: Deb Kaelbi (Geneva Lake Astrophysics and STEAM), Ewine van Dishoeck (President of the International Astronomical Union), Tim Spuck (Director of Education and Public Outreach, Associated Universities Inc.), Kate Meridith (Geneva Lake Astrophysics and STEAM) and Kevin Govender (Director of the Office of Astronomy for Development).
