Near-infrared spectra and optical to near-infrared photometry

Near-infrared spectra (purple) and optical to near-infrared photometry(blue) of the nine "dead" galaxies. These galaxies show no Hα emissionline, which indicates that their star formation rates are extremely low. The upper panel shows the original spectra (see paper for more details).
