Different perspectives on the centers of galaxies
Astronomers have different perspectives on the centers of galaxies at optical (left) and near-infrared (right) wavelengths. Dust prevents optical measurement of the rotating disk of stars that is located at the galaxy's center. Although the dust is still present, it does not obscure near-infrared views.
