The John W. Evans Solar Facility
The John W. Evans Solar Facility housed in the Big Dome at Sacramento Peak Observatory is visible here in this photo. The main instrument was the K-Corona Emission Line Photometer (KELP) a collaboration between Sacramento Peak and HAO in Boulder. It was taken in the 1974–1980 timeframe. The primary telescope on the spar was a 16-in refractor that observed both on disk and in the corona. Donald Woodman is seen.
