SMARTS 1.0-meter Telescope Interior

The interior of the SMARTS 1.0-meter Telescope, one of four telescopes that make up the Small and Moderate Aperture Research Telescope System (SMARTS) Consortium, located at Cerro-Tololo Inter American Observatory (CTIO), a Program of NSF NOIRLab. It was originally located in Bethany, Connecticut, and was relocated to CTIO in 1972. As of August 2020, it is operated in robotic mode with an optical imaging camera.
