IQUEYE First-Light Observations of Crab Pulsar

This plot shows the signal from the Crab Pulsar from the first-light observations with IQUEYE at Gemini South (blue), compared to the data from 2009 at ESO’s New Technology Telescope (orange). The strength of the pulses detected by Gemini South demonstrate the improved sensitivity of IQUEYE when mounted on a telescope as optically powerful as the 8-meter Gemini South. This plot shows one second of the first-light observations of the Crab Pulsar, which in total lasted four hours.

IQUEYE is a visiting instrument at Gemini South and was successfully installed on the telescope in early February 2025.
