Titan Occultation as Seen by W. M. Keck Observatory
A series of images taken during the 5 September occultation using the Keck Observatory’s adaptive optics system. The images were taken 9 seconds apart. Though the star is located behind Titan, the atmosphere acts as a lens, bending the starlight and producing projections of the star on Titan’s edge.
