14 Irene from Kitt Peak
This composite image shows the 10.4-magnitude asteroid 14 Irene as it moves across the sky. It is a combination of four one-minute exposures spaced about 20 minutes apart. The motion of the asteroid is clearly evident. Image from the McMath-Pierce East Auxiliary Telescope (yes, primarily a solar telescope: see the article in the December 2001 NOAO Newsletter, currently only available in PDF format).
