A Familiar-Looking Messenger from Another Solar System
Multiple exposures centered on U1 combined into one image (top). The light from background stars is smeared out into streaks as the telescope follows U1 on the sky. Some of the streaks appear cut off, because the camera is a mosaic of many smaller detectors. If the stars are first masked out and the images then combined, U1 appears alone (bottom).
